Extended Range Technical Diver

Advanced technical diving to 90m

This advanced technical diving course builds upon foundational technical skills, emphasizing dive planning and team safety. Students learn to extend both depth and bottom time using additional cylinders with bottom gas, in a target-based training approach.

Duration

Min 10 hours water training, at least 10 hours theory and briefings

Prerequisites

Minimum age 20, excellent health status, completion of Technical Diver course (or equivalent), proof of minimum 30 Technical Diver level dives

Learning Objectives

Configure and use equipment for technical diving according to SwedTech Diving equipment configuration
Plan dives requiring Trimix, Nitrox, or Oxygen for decompression
Work with hypoxic helium-based bottom mixes for reduced narcotic effects
Understand overhead dive planning in both physical and artificial ceiling environments
Manage multiple equipment problems and backup solutions
Execute various swimming techniques and operate effectively in balanced teams

Course Limits & Requirements

Maximum depth: 90 meters
PO2 limits: 1.4 bar (bottom), 1.6 bar (decompression)
Maximum END: 30 meters
Maximum 3 students per instructor
